Description
Brass maces heads were mostly used by chieftains and commanders as a symbol of power. Although weapons in their own right it is theorized that they might have been mostly used as a mark of the leader on the battlefield and for disciplining disobedient soldiers.
This mace head is made after a few finds from Estonia, from Pada and Otepää. Such maces were used both in the Viking age and also a little later, in the 12th and 13th century.
